High-Strength High-Temperature Threadlocker, Red
This high-temperature one-component anaerobic compound is intended for the locking and sealing of threaded joints that do not require frequent dismantling and are subject to vibration, shock loads and high temperatures. It prevents fasteners from loosening and self-unscrewing.
The AXIOM® AS312 threadlocker is resistant to automotive service fluids (oil, brake fluid, antifreeze, petrol, diesel fuel, etc.). It polymerises without access to air in gaps up to 0.25 mm. The operating temperature range of the cured threadlocker is from –60°C to +250°C. The breakaway torque on an untightened threaded pair is not less than 48 N·m. Shear strength — 27.6 MPa (4000 psi). - Work is recommended at an ambient temperature between +5°C and +30°C and a threadlocker temperature of +15…20°C.
- Before applying the compound, clean and degrease the surfaces with A9601 “Brake and clutch parts cleaner”. Dry them.
- Shake the bottle thoroughly. Remove the cap and cut off the tip.
- Spread the required amount of compound over the entire surface of the external thread. For blind joints, apply a few drops of the compound directly into the threaded hole.
- Assemble the joint and leave it until cured.
- Remove excess product with a rag.
Initial strength – after 10‑15 minutes (at a temperature of 20°C); full polymerisation time – 24 hours. To make dismantling easier, heat the joint to 300‑500°C with a heat gun or a blowtorch.
