1K Polyurethane Auto Glass Adhesive

The AXIOM® ABP413 one-component high-modulus polyurethane-based adhesive sealant has high bonding strength, water and oil resistance and resistance to ageing, and it withstands vibration loads throughout its entire service life. It has excellent adhesion to glass and metal and high initial tensile strength on glass and metal surfaces.

It is used for creating high-strength bonded joints when installing and sealing windscreens and perimeter glazing of vehicles in passenger car, truck and commercial vehicle engineering. It is suitable for use in marine and railway transport. It can be painted.

  • Work should be carried out at a temperature from +5°C to +35°C.
  • Apply the adhesive to clean, degreased surfaces. For degreasing and cleaning, “Silicone remover” A9690 is recommended.
  • For neat work, use masking tape and remove it immediately after the adhesive has been applied.
  • Treat the bonding zone on the glass with primer. Attention! Do not apply the primer to the surface of freshly cut polyurethane!
  • Use a sealant gun (applicator gun) for application.
  • Preparing the gun: pull the gun rod fully out to the stop, unscrew the nut and the nozzle, place the foil pack into the gun barrel. Carefully cut off the tail of the pack that remains outside, close the gun, fixing the nozzle and the nut in the required position: the cut tail of the pack must fit into the nozzle.
  • To obtain the opening required for dispensing, cut the tip of the nozzle at an angle of 45°.
  • Before applying the adhesive, make sure that the primer has dried.
  • Apply the adhesive to the primed bonding zone of the glass.
  • Fit the glass on the vehicle and position it precisely. Press it so as to ensure full contact with the adhesive around the whole perimeter.
  • Clean the surfaces soiled with freshly applied adhesive with solvent. Remove cured adhesive mechanically.
