Zinc-Rich Primer
The high-quality professional primer with a high content of finely dispersed zinc is designed for priming ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces prior to subsequent refinishing. The high concentration of zinc and the considerable dry film thickness create sufficient electrical conductivity to allow spot welding to be carried out directly over the primer. Indispensable for protecting weld seams and for the local and complete restoration of a damaged zinc-anodised coating. Provides additional cathodic protection for vehicle body elements and significantly reduces the risk of under-film corrosion. Has a high degree of anti-corrosion protection, good adhesion and hiding power.
Zinc-filled primer AXIOM® is easily applied to hard-to-reach places and forms a strong, uniform coating on the primed surface. Can be painted over with most types of enamel (alkyd, acrylic, epoxy, etc.).
- It is recommended to protect the surfaces that are not to be primed.
- For best results the primer should be applied at an ambient temperature of at least +10°C.
- Before priming, remove rust and scale, sand with P80–P240 sandpaper (dry sanding). Degrease thoroughly. For degreasing, AXIOM® A9602 is recommended.
- Before use, shake the can vigorously for 2–3 minutes.
- Apply the primer from a distance of 25–30 cm in 2–3 coats with intermediate drying of 10‑15 minutes at a temperature of +20°C. Drying time is 12 hours at a temperature of +20°C. Coating thickness: 25–30 µm per coat.
- For the best painting results, the use of an acrylic primer-filler before applying the enamel is recommended.
On completion of work, to avoid clogging the spray head, turn the can upside down and spray until the compound stops coming out.
