Professional All-Season Polyurethane Foam
The product has been specially developed for the installation of translucent structures, as well as for a wide range of professional applications in the field of sealing and of thermal and sound insulation in construction.
Additives specially developed for AXIOM® foam provide a balance of closed and open cells in the foam structure, which makes it possible to achieve ideal resistance to deformation and an effective combination of thermal and sound insulation characteristics.
A feature of the whole AXIOM® foam range is low post-expansion, which makes it possible to control foam consumption effectively when filling joints. Fully cured AXIOM® foam has increased hydrophobicity, which significantly reduces the effect of air humidity on the installation joint and thereby substantially extends its service characteristics.
The professional all-season gun-grade foam sealant AXIOM® APFU165 has excellent adhesion to most building materials, such as concrete, brick, wood, metal and plastic, with the exception of polyethylene, polypropylene and fluoroplastic.
- Low deformation pressure on the structure during curing: no more than 8 kPa. (TM 1009:2013).
- Foam yield — up to 65 litres*.
- Filling length of a standard (3 × 3 cm) installation joint up to 40 metres*.
- Skin formation time — up to 12 minutes*.
- Initial handling time — up to 30 minutes*.
- Dimensional stability across the whole service temperature range of the installation joint.
- High resistance to damp and mould.
- Contains no harmful solvents or fillers. In the cured state it is environmentally safe.
- Work is recommended at a temperature between –10°C and +35°C and a relative air humidity of not less than 50%.
- To obtain the maximum yield and the optimum physical and mechanical properties of the foam, keep the can before use at a temperature of +18…20°C for at least 10 hours.
- For neat work it is recommended to cover the adjoining surfaces with film.
- Apply the foam to surfaces previously cleaned of dust, dirt, grease, ice and frost.
- Moisten the working surfaces before applying the foam. At an ambient temperature above 0°C — with water, below 0°C — with foam sealant activator.
- Working position of the can — UPSIDE DOWN.
- Shake the can thoroughly at least 15 times over 30 seconds.
- Remove the protective cover from the can.
- Screw the gun onto the threaded cross-shaped adaptor. Make sure the connection is secure.
- Fill the gap to 2/3 of its volume, applying the foam sealant from the bottom upwards.
- Regulate the foam output with the screw of the gun. During work, shake the can from time to time.
- After application, moisten the foam with a sprayer.
- Remove uncured foam with foam sealant cleaner.
- Cut off excess foam with a knife after full curing.
- For cured foam, use a cured foam sealant remover.
- After full polymerisation (24 hours*), the cured foam can be cut, plastered and painted.
- Protect from UV radiation and precipitation.
* At a temperature of +23°C and a relative humidity of 50%.
