AXIOM® BOND Hybrid Polymer Adhesive Sealant, Gray (Shore A 40)
The AXIOM® ABP526 structural industrial one-component high-modulus adhesive sealant in grey in a sausage pack is intended for creating high-strength, permanently elastic bonded joints and sealing seams in transport and industrial mechanical engineering. It is suitable for sealing joint seams subject to vibration loads.
AXIOM® BOND is used in the manufacture and repair of commercial vehicles for mounting the body components of buses, trucks and passenger cars and special-purpose vehicles (cash-in-transit vans, ambulances, refrigerated vehicles, as well as motorhomes and trailers). It is widely used in the assembly of marine transport (components above the waterline), railway carriages, air conditioning and ventilation systems, etc.
It withstands compression, tension and shear. It reduces vibration and noise, is resistant to loads and is perfectly suited to bonding materials with different thermal expansion. It is intended for bonding and sealing assemblies with joint movement of up to 12%. Shore A hardness (GOST 263-75) — 40.
Ready to use, it requires no priming or preparatory materials before application. Thixotropic, it does not run or sag along the seam during application. After curing it can be sanded and painted with water-based and synthetic paints (when using solvent-based paints, carry out a test). For 7.6 linear metres at a bead diameter of 10 mm. Resistant to ageing, temperature fluctuations and adverse weather conditions. For interior and exterior work. Chemically neutral, it does not react with the materials being bonded, does not cause corrosion of metals and is suitable for bonding items made of delicate materials. Odourless, environmentally safe, non-toxic and non-flammable, it contains no isocyanates, solvents or silicones.
- Work is recommended at a temperature between +5°C and +35°C.
- Apply the adhesive to clean, degreased surfaces.
- For neat work, use masking tape and remove it immediately after application.
- Use a caulking gun (applicator gun) for application.
- Preparing the gun: pull the gun rod fully out, unscrew the nut and the nozzle, place the sausage pack into the barrel of the gun. Carefully cut off the tail of the pack protruding outside, close the gun, fixing the nozzle and the nut in the required position: the cut tail of the pack must fit into the nozzle.
- To obtain the opening required for dispensing, cut the tip of the nozzle at an angle of 45°.
- Apply the adhesive to the elements to be bonded in strips at intervals of 5-15 cm to provide ventilation. Use a caulking gun for application.
- Press the element to be bonded against the mounting point and position it precisely. If necessary, provide temporary fixing. Full curing takes place under the action of atmospheric moisture within 3-7 days.
- Skin formation time — at least 20 minutes, adhesive curing rate — 2–3 mm per day (at a temperature of +23 °C and a relative humidity of 50%).
- Clean surfaces contaminated with freshly applied adhesive using a solvent (acetone, white spirit). Remove cured adhesive mechanically.
- Bonded items may be used at temperatures between –60°C and +110°C.
Attention! Do not use on surfaces where contact with food is possible. Not suitable for continuous immersion in water.
