AXIOM® BOND Hybrid Polymer Adhesive Sealant, Black (Shore A 45)
The AXIOM® ABP513 structural industrial one-component high-modulus black adhesive sealant is intended for creating high-strength, permanently elastic bonded joints and sealing seams in transport and industrial mechanical engineering. It is suitable for sealing joint seams subject to vibration loads.
AXIOM® BOND is used in the manufacture and repair of commercial vehicles for mounting the body components of buses, trucks and passenger cars and special-purpose vehicles (cash-in-transit vans, ambulances, refrigerated vehicles, as well as motorhomes and trailers).
It is widely used in the assembly of marine transport (components above the waterline), railway carriages, air conditioning and ventilation systems, etc.
It withstands compression, tension and shear. It reduces vibration and noise, is resistant to loads and is perfectly suited to bonding materials with different thermal expansion. It is intended for bonding and sealing assemblies with joint movement of up to 12%. Shore A hardness (GOST 263-75) — 45.
- It has excellent adhesion to most materials, such as aluminium, metals, alloys, stainless steel, PVC, rigid plastics (except PE, PP and PTFE), wood, as well as stone, concrete, glass, ceramics and plasterboard.
- Environmentally safe, non-toxic and non-flammable, it contains no isocyanates or solvents.
- It forms a strong, permanently elastic, durable seam.
- It requires no preliminary priming.
- Thixotropic, it does not run or sag along the seam.
- After curing it can be painted with water-based and synthetic paints (when using solvent-based paints, carry out a test).
- It does not shrink or form bubbles.
- Chemically neutral, it does not cause corrosion.
- Resistant to weathering and temperature fluctuations.
- Wide operating temperature range: from –60°C to +110°C.
- Not suitable for continuous immersion in water.
- Work is recommended at a temperature between +5°C and +35°C.
- Apply the adhesive sealant to clean, degreased surfaces. For degreasing and cleaning it is recommended to use a silicone remover.
- For neat work, use masking tape and remove it immediately after applying the adhesive.
- Cut off the screw head of the tube above the thread, screw on the nozzle, unscrew the cap and cut the nozzle tip so that an opening sufficient for dispensing is formed. Apply the adhesive to the elements to be bonded in strips at intervals of 5–15 cm to provide ventilation. Use a caulking gun for application.
- Press the element to be bonded against the mounting point and position it precisely. If necessary, use temporary mechanical fixing until the adhesive has cured.
- When used to create sealing seams, apply the compound as a continuous bead, without breaks, runs or voids. Smooth the resulting seam with a spatula moistened with soapy water.
- Skin formation time — at least 15 minutes, curing rate — 3–4 mm per day; maximum bond strength is reached within 5–7 days (at a temperature of +23°C and a relative humidity of 50%).
- Clean tools with acetone or white spirit.
- Remove cured sealant mechanically.
Attention! Do not use on surfaces where contact with food is possible. Not suitable for continuous immersion in water.
