Neutral-Cure RTV Silicone Seam Sealer, Clear
High-quality silicone sealant AXIOM® ASK130 with a neutral curing system is designed for sealing joints and protecting non-porous surfaces against the ingress of air and moisture in the manufacture and repair of vehicles. It is used for mounting the trim elements of buses, trucks and cars and special-purpose vehicles: cash-in-transit vans, ambulances, refrigerated vehicles, motorhomes and trailers.
It is perfectly suited to bonding materials with different thermal expansion. It is used for sealing seams in the assembly of light fittings, headlights and rear lights of vehicles.
Chemically neutral, it does not cause corrosion of metals. It quickly forms a surface skin. Resistant to most cleaning and washing agents. Resistant to ultraviolet radiation, weathering, temperature fluctuations and practically any aggressive media. Thixotropic, it does not run or slump along the seam. Highly elastic. Sufficient for 20–22 linear metres at a bead diameter of 4 mm. For interior and exterior work. The cured sealant can be used in the temperature range from –40°C to +120°C.
- Work is recommended at an ambient temperature between +5°C and +40°C and a sealant temperature of +20…25°C.
- Before applying the sealant, clean, degrease and dry the surfaces. To remove traces of old sealant it is recommended to use A9605 “Sealant remover”. For degreasing and cleaning — A9601 “Brake and clutch parts cleaner”.
- For neat work, protect the surfaces with masking tape.
- Use a sealant gun for application.
- Smooth the sealant in the seam with a wet spatula. Remove the masking tape immediately after smoothing.
- Skin formation time — 15-30 minutes; sealant curing rate — 3 mm per day (at a temperature of +23°C and a relative humidity of 55%).
- Clean tools and surfaces contaminated with freshly applied sealant using a solvent.
- Remove cured sealant mechanically using A9605 “Sealant remover”.
