Professional tintable high-build acrylic primer with high filling capacity for preparing ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces for painting.

High-build acrylic primer AXIOM® A4179-1 creates reliable anti-corrosion protection of metal parts. Thanks to its excellent adhesion, it promotes a firm bond between the topcoat and the painted surface. Provides good pore filling and sands easily, making it possible to obtain quickly a perfect surface free from pores, scratches and irregularities.

Suitable for priming sanded electrophoretic coatings, PE fillers, steel surfaces, acid and epoxy primers and old finish coatings. Can be tinted with basecoat enamels. Can be painted over with any basecoat or 2K enamel.

Used

  • as a pore-filling primer (in the sandable version),
  • «wet on wet» (in the non-sandable version),
  • as a primer tintable with basecoat enamels.

  • For full information on application see the product TDS.
  • For best results, use at a temperature of not below +10°C.
  • Before priming, the substrates must be cleaned, dried, degreased and dry sanded with abrasive material (P80 ➡ P320, depending on the substrate being painted).
  • Protect the surfaces that are not to be primed.
  • Mixing ratios:

  • Equipment for application:

  • Apply in 2-3 “wet” coats.
  • Drying between coats – 10-20 minutes at 20°C.
  • Subsequent treatment: any finishing paints and coatings. Dry sanding with P320 ➡ P500 abrasive material. Wet sanding P600 ➡ P1000.
