High-quality professional one-component (1K) acrylic primer-filler AXIOM® A9677 is designed for preparing ferrous and non-ferrous metal parts for painting. Thanks to its excellent adhesion it promotes a firm bond between the topcoat and the painted surface. Provides reliable anti-corrosion protection of the metal. Fills pores excellently and sands easily, making it possible to obtain quickly a perfect surface free from pores, scratches and irregularities. Priming of old paint coatings is permitted. Can be painted over with any type of enamel.
- To avoid aerosol overspray marks, it is recommended to protect the surfaces that are not to be primed.
- For best results, apply the primer at an ambient temperature of not below +10°C.
- Before use, shake the can vigorously for 2–3 minutes.
- Before treatment, metal surfaces must be freed of rust and scale and sanded with P80–P240 sandpaper (dry sanding). Old paint coatings must be sanded with P220–P320 sandpaper (dry sanding) or P400 sandpaper (wet sanding). Then degrease the surface thoroughly.
- Apply the primer from a distance of 25–30 cm in 2 coats with intermediate drying of 5–10 minutes at a temperature of +20°C. Drying time 1.5 hours at a temperature of +20°C. Coating thickness: 40–50 µm per coat.
- Before the enamel is applied, dry sanding of the primer with P400–P500 sandpaper and wet sanding with P800–P1000 sandpaper are provided for.
